True Love's Kiss

Prince Edward lives in the 2D world of Andalasia where he is busy tying up trolls day after day. He would rather find a girl to sing his heart out to, but he does not know that his stepmother is trying very hard to keep him from meeting a girl he might want to marry. On a day when troll-catching failed to catch his attention, Edward meets Giselle and they sing a duet and fall in love. When Edward's stepmother pushes Giselle down a well that leads her to New York City, Edward wastes no time running after her.

While very romantic and good at singing, Edward is not the smartest guy in the world --2D or not. He is not smart enough to realize that he is also quite vain and loves himself and his looks a little too much. When he smiles at his reflection in his shiny sword he might remind you of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, but he has more charm and earnestness about him than Gaston. He does not seem to need the title of King, just the princess that will finish his duet and love him in return.
